The Israel Defense Forces says it has canceled a large concert that was set to take place in the southern city of Sderot this evening, “in order to take extra precaution” as tensions are high amid a major operation in the West Bank city of Jenin.

Over the past year, the Islamic Jihad terror group has launched rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip in response to members being killed or arrested in the West Bank.

The IDF says the head of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Eliezer Toledano, decided on canceling the Pe’er Tasi and E-Z show, following an assessment with the head of the Home Front Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo.
