At least 5 rockets fired from Gaza at Ashdod area; some intercepted; no injuries

A barrage of at least five rockets was fired from the southern Gaza Strip at the Ashdod area in southern Israel.

Some of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome and some impacted open areas, causing no injuries.

Sirens had sounded in several towns near Ashdod, for the first time in months.

There is no immediate claim of responsibility for the long-range attack.
