Bazan oil refinery complex in Haifa shuts some facilities

The Bazan oil refinery complex in the northern city of Haifa announces that flaring is expected, with an increase in polluting emissions, following the shutdown of some of the group’s facilities.

The company says the flare is a safety tool used to burn excess gas.

During the 12-day war with Iran last year, all of Bazan’s facilities were temporarily shut down after an Iranian missile strike that killed three people on site.
