US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Israel on Thursday in a show of “solidarity and support” from the Biden administration following the Hamas terror attacks against the Jewish state, State Department spokesperson Matt Miller says.
Blinken will meet with top Israeli officials; “reiterate his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attacks against Israel and condemn those attacks in the strongest terms; reaffirm US solidarity with the government and people of Israel and discuss measures to bolster Israel’s security and underscore the United States’ unwavering support for Israel’s right to defend itself,” the State Department says.
Blinken will also make a stop in Jordan on Friday before returning to the US.
