Cabinet meetings to be held today have been moved to a secure, underground location, at security officials’ direction, an Israeli official confirms to The Times of Israel.
The official doesn’t specify the exact threat, but the move comes amid concern over a possible escalation amid the war with Iran.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slated to meet with the full cabinet, then at 1 p.m. with the security cabinet.
The meetings are scheduled ahead of Netanyahu’s planned trip to Washington, to meet with US President Donald Trump and attend the funeral of late senator Lindsey Graham.
He is slated to depart for the US on Monday.
The meetings, and Netanyahu’s trip, come as the US weighs its next steps on Iran after pausing its nightly strikes over the weekend.
