Cities in central Israel also announce they are opening public bomb shelters amid fears of reprisal rocket attacks from terror groups in Gaza.

Herzliya, Ra’anana and Kfar Saba are the latest to open the shelters. Earlier, Rishon Lezion, Yavneh, Bat Yam, Ashkelon and Beersheba opened theirs.

The Assuta hospital in Ashdod tells the public that it is fortified against rocket attacks and offers health services as normal.

Other hospitals, including Soroka in Beersheba and Barzilai in Ashkelon, move patients to special fortified areas.
