Defense Ministry thwarts ‘unusual’ smuggling efforts to Gaza

The Defense Ministry says it has thwarted efforts to smuggle items into the Gaza Strip through the Erez Crossing.

“Among the items unearthed are security cameras, 14 small UAVs, UAV components and model airplanes, binoculars, laser pointers for weapons, communications equipment and electronic boards, tasers, weapons components, diving watches equipped with flashlights, flippers, miniature cameras, GoPro cameras, DVR cameras, banned electronic components, satellite communications equipment, surveillance cameras, telephone switchboards, Wi-Fi antenna, packages of motion sensors, routers and slingshots. This is a partial list,” it says.

Today’s “discovery was unusual, even to those familiar with the most creative smuggling attempts and methodologies,” it says.

The items, discovered in postal shipments, are confiscated.
