Egypt reportedly attempting to broker calm

Egyptian mediators are making significant efforts to broker a ceasefire and restore calm, given a major flare-up of violence between Israel and Gaza, the Kan broadcaster reports, citing an unnamed defense source.

The station reports that other bodies, including the UN, are also involved in the efforts.
