Egypt reportedly says it was unaware of policeman’s intentions

Citing an Israeli source, the Kan public broadcaster reports that Egypt has sought to distance itself from the policeman who killed three Israeli soldiers before being shot dead by troops, with Egyptian officials saying they were unaware of his intentions.

The broadcaster also says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office briefed ministers to say how irregular the incident was and stress that it doesn’t reflect Israeli-Egyptian ties.
