Eisenkot blasts Katz’s ’empty statements’ on Gaza settlement that ‘only harm Israel’

Yashar party chair and ex-military chief Gadi Eisenkot criticizes Defense Minister Israel Katz for saying Israel will eventually settle the northern Gaza Strip.

Eisenkot pans Katz for “another day in which he is acting against broad national consensus.”

“While the government votes with one hand in favor of the Trump plan, with the other it sells myths about isolated settlements in the Gaza Strip,” Eisenkot posts on X.

“Instead of strengthening security and passing a draft law [mandating military service for the ultra-orthodox community] that would bolster the IDF, the government — driven by narrow political considerations — is continuing to make irresponsible, empty statements that only harm Israel’s standing in the world.”
