Former NYC mayor Adams launches cryptocurrency he says will combat antisemitism

Former New York City mayor Eric Adams announces the launch of a new cryptocurrency, NYC Token, that he says will fight antisemitism.
Adams, who left office on January 1 when his successor Zohran Mamdani came to power, is a staunch supporter of Israel and Jewish communities, and prioritized combating antisemitism while in office.
He announces NYC Token with a video of himself in a city taxi cab.
“We’re about to change the game,” he says in the video. “This thing is about to take off like crazy.”

NYC Token will combat antisemitism by donating a portion of its proceeds to programs that educate about Jewish history, culture, and antisemitism, the token’s website says.
