Government working to bring reunification law to another vote today
Lawmakers in the government coalition are working to bring the Palestinian reunification law — which failed 59-59 in a dramatic Knesset session early this morning — to another vote, as early as today.
Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked reportedly says that legislation extending the law will come to another plenum vote this evening.
Deputy Defense Minister Alon Schuster tells Kan radio that lawmakers are working on declaring a new vote. “This law is important for Israel’s security agencies,” Schuster says, adding that it’s “incredible to see MKs from Likud and the Joint List celebrating together.”
