Hamas condemns the “Zionist-American hostilities on the Islamic Republic,” while calling for unity in the Muslim world, after Iran struck Arab US allies in the region, including Hamas benefactor Qatar.
“While we affirm our solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the hostilities, we call for unity and solidarity in the Arab and Muslim nation to thwart these hostilities,” Hamas says.
It accuses the US and Israel of seeking to redraw the map of the region “to establish ‘Greater Israel’ at the expense of Arab and Muslim lands.”
Meanwhile, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which analysts describe as a more whole-hearted ally of Iran, says Iran has the right “to defend itself and deter opponents” in response to the US-Israeli attacks.
“These hostilities target not only Iran, but all countries and people of our nation, and seek to impose domination by war criminals,” PIJ says. “We call on the peoples of our Arab and Muslim nation, and to the sons of our Palestinian people, to unite against these hostile designs.”
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
