Hundreds at funeral of Yossi Sarid
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHundreds of people are attending the funeral of former minister and Meretz party leader Yossi Sarid.
“For years, we had his sharp, shrewd voice accompany us and remind us all that there is no contradiction between justice and diplomatic know-how — the opposite,” author Amos Oz says in his eulogy, according to the Walla news website. “He reminded us that there is no contradiction between the love of Israel and pursuing justice.”
Yishai Sarid, the son of the lawmaker, said that after his father died on Saturday “his face was peaceful and free of worries,” Ynet reports.
“Abba [father] was always worried and had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Now he is really at peace.”
