IDF bolsters troops at West Bank security barrier after Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak attacks

The Israel Defense Forces says it is bolstering troops around the West Bank security barrier, after military chief Aviv Kohavi confirmed the terrorist who killed three in Tel Aviv crossed a gap in the fence.

An additional three companies will be deployed in the “seam zone” border area along the Green Line separating Israel and the West Bank, the IDF says.

There are many gaps in the West Bank barrier, and the IDF has dispatched thousands of troops in recent weeks to the seam zone area to prevent Palestinians from crossing into Israel.

Ra’ad Hazem, who carried out the deadly terror shooting in Tel Aviv on Thursday, crossed into Israel from the West Bank via a gap in the fence much like the terrorist who killed five in an attack in Bnei Brak last week.
