IDF deploys third division to Gaza City amid widening offensive against Hamas

The IDF says it has deployed a third division, the 36th, to Gaza City, as the offensive against Hamas there expands.
The ground operation, dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots B,” began last Monday night with two divisions. The 36th Division was withdrawn from Khan Younis earlier this month, and its troops spent two weeks preparing for the Gaza City offensive.
The IDF says that in recent days, dozens of targets in Gaza City were struck to enable the 36th Division to enter the area.
