The military announces it will begin a drill this evening along the Lebanese border to improve its preparedness for a potential escalation with the Hezbollah terror group.

The exercise, dubbed Sunbeam, will last until tomorrow afternoon, according to the Israel Defense Forces, which adds that troop movements will be felt in the area.

The IDF says the exercise is aimed at testing the readiness of soldiers during “days of battle” while examining how to apply lessons learned from May’s military conflict in Gaza against Palestinian terrorists.

The drill was planned in advance.
