An IDF soldier is moderately wounded after coming under fire in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, the military says.
According to the IDF, the shooting occurred while forces were operating in the city. The wounded soldier was evacuated to a hospital for treatment, and his family has been notified. Israeli forces have launched a manhunt for the attacker.
Arabic media reports say Israeli forces were ambushed by Palestinian gunmen while operating in the area in the early morning.
Videos circulating online appear to show IDF troops and armored vehicles moving through the streets of Nablus as gunfire can be heard. Other footage shows what appears to be an IDF helicopter evacuating the wounded soldier.
