The IDF’s calls to evacuate parts of central Gaza’s Nuseirat and Bureij come as the military plans to expand ground operations in the Strip in the coming period, military sources say.

It also comes amid preparations in the IDF for planned Hamas attacks on the anniversary of the October 7 onslaught.

The evacuated zones are located just south of the Netzarim Corridor, where the military maintains a semi-permanent presence.

There have been numerous attempts by Hamas to attack troops in the corridor amid the war, and recently, a large crowd of Palestinians attempted to return to north Gaza through the area but were pushed back by the IDF.
