Israel, UAE sign historic economic, trade agreement

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid signs an economic and trade agreement with his Emirati counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Lapid, who is making the first official visit by an Israeli minister to the UAE since the signing of the Abraham Accords, jokes during the signing ceremony that he doesn’t know how to sign in Arabic.
He tweets — in Hebrew and Arabic — that he wrote in the guestbook that “peace is a choice and we chose it together. Israel and the United Arab Emirates are going on the path of peace for the benefit of our nations and the entire region.”
He adds a biblical phrase from the Book of Isaiah: “And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”
