Prime Minister Yair Lapid kicks off his Yesh Atid party’s election campaign in an event in Tel Aviv, promising to lower the cost of living in Israel.

Lapid takes a dig at opposition chief Benjamin Netanyahu, who presented his own economic plan earlier in the day.

“We are leading the fight against a rise in the cost of living,” Lapid tells the crowd of supporters.

“For 15 years nobody did anything, they did not touch it,” he said referring to Netanyahu’s more-than-decade-long time in power.

“Suddenly Netanyahu learns how to fill up a car? He goes to a gas station, and even does it exactly when we have just brought gas prices down,” Lapid says.
