Lapid to meet with top security officials as ceasefire deal delayed

Prime Minister Yair Lapid will hold a “brief situational assessment” at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv with top security officials at 9:45 p.m., his office says, given delays in a reported Egyptian-brokered ceasefire deal between Israel and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Joining Lapid in the meeting are Defense Minister Benny Gantz and the chiefs of the IDF, Shin Bet, Mossad, and National Security Council, among others.
