Longtime Netanyahu adviser Ofer Golan resigns from Prime Minister’s Office

Ofer Golan, a longtime adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announces that he is resigning from his post in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Golan has worked for the premier for a decade, having also served as a spokesman for the Netanyahu family and a campaign manager for Likud during the 2019 elections.

In a statement announcing his resignation, Golan heaps praise on Netanyahu, saying he has “seen up close his unimaginable ability to skillfully navigate between desires, limitations and needs without compromising on the good of the state and its citizens, and to achieve remarkable accomplishments.”

He adds that he has watched “with reverence” as the prime minister “brought about historic moves that have shaped, strengthened, and fortified the State of Israel — and in fact, redefined it.”

Netanyahu says that Ofer acted over the years “with great professionalism and dedication” and contributed significantly “with wise advice and common sense.”

In 2025, Golan was indicted, along with two other senior prime ministerial aides, on charges of witness intimidation for having sent a car with a megaphone to the home of a key witness in Netanyahu’s criminal trial in 2019 in order to harass him.
