Before taking off for Washington DC, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran will top the agenda in his meeting with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday.
“In these complex times one must act with both great determination and great wisdom,” he said in a Hebrew-language video statement alongside his wife Sara. “We will discuss all the issues on the agenda, first and foremost Iran. Of course, our goal is to safeguard our security while also expanding the circle of peace around us.”
“I am embarking on this mission with one clear objective,” he said, “to ensure the security, strength, and future of our beloved State of Israel.”
He noted that he is also traveling to pay last respects to late senator Lindsey Graham, “one of Israel’s greatest friends of all time.”
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
