Netanyahu meets leading rabbis, asks for their support

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has met with leading rabbis from the national religious camp, asking them for their support.

“There is a political effort through protests and other means to bring down the national government I lead,” Netanyahu reportedly tells them, referring to a series of protests against corruption.

The rabbis said they would not lend their support to the anti-corruption protests that have until now been mostly by left-wing activists. A right-wing anti-corruption protest held on the weekend mostly fizzled.
