Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanks US President Donald Trump for his earlier statement praising the Israeli leader’s actions against Iran and calling for the premier’s corruption trial to be canceled.

“Thank you, President Trump, for your moving support of me and your tremendous support for Israel and the Jewish people,” Netanyahu writes in a Hebrew-language post on X, attaching a translation of Trump’s Truth Social post.

“We will continue to work together to defeat our common enemies, free our hostages, and swiftly expand the circle of peace,” Netanyahu says.

In his post, Trump described Netanyahu’s trial as “politically motivated” and a “witch hunt,” and said it “should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State.”

The remarks drew praise from members of Netanyahu’s cabinet, while opposition figures criticized the comments as inappropriate interference in Israel’s judicial process.
