Official: Female guards face widespread sexual harassment at all prisons
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA senior Prison Service official tells Israel Radio that female guards face widespread sexual harassment and assault across all jails in Israel.
“The harassment is on a near-daily basis, we are talking about sex crimes, indecent acts, verbal abuse, and attempts at sexual assault,” the official says, adding that other females working in the prison system, like social workers, face similar plights.
The officer says that prisoners feel they have nothing to lose and are not deterred by punishments, like fresh charges or being sent to solitary confinement.
