Palestinian news sites report that a Palestinian man who attempted to cross the West Bank security fence in the al-Ram area on the outskirts of Jerusalem was shot and killed by the Israeli security forces.

The shooting reportedly occurs in the same area where a pair of Palestinians who killed six people in a Jerusalem shooting attack exactly a week ago are thought to have crossed into Israel, using a hole in the barrier.

There is no immediate response to the reports from Israeli authorities.

Israeli forces shot several Palestinians trying to cross the barrier in the area in recent days.

According to the reports, the man was attempting to enter Israel for work illegally.
