PA’s Abbas bids farewell to outgoing President Rivlin

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas calls outgoing President Reuven Rivlin, as the latter wraps up his time in the job, Abbas’s office says in a statement.
“During the phone call, the president expressed his hope that peace between the two sides would be achieved as soon as possible,” the statement says. Rivlin thanked Abbas for the call, says Abbas’s office.
Rivlin’s office declines to comment.
