Plans for West Bank waste incineration plant scrapped

Sue Surkes is The Times of Israel's environment reporter

Controversial plans for a waste incineration plant on a site called the Good Samaritan in Mishor Adumim, a West Bank industrial park near Jerusalem, are cancelled for good following a decision of an interministerial committee not to seek bidders for the tender.

The plan was opposed by Environmental Protection Minister Gila Gamliel as contradicting the ministry’s new waste policy, which emphasizes recycling.
