PM: 2014 Gaza war brought long period of quiet in south
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the 2014 conflict with Hamas in Gaza, known in Israel as Operation Protective Edge, created a long period of calm in the south.
He also says that every terrorist attempt to infiltrate into the country since the conflict has failed, Israel Radio reports.
Hamas, he continues, suffered the harshest blow in its history during the war and failed to achieve any of its demands for a ceasefire, while Israel won legitimacy and international support.
