PM to Kerry: Hamas broke the promises it gave you

Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in Gaza will “bear the consequences of their actions,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tells US Secretary John Kerry this afternoon during a phone conversation. “Israel will take all necessary actions against those who call for its destruction and carry out terror attacks against its citizens.”

In their conversation, Netanyahu tells Kerry that despite the joint statement that Kerry and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, which said that they received guarantees from Hamas and the other terror groups in the strip, the Palestinians “unilaterally and blatantly” broke the ceasefire.

The Israeli soldiers were attacked more than one hour after the humanitarian ceasefire had gone into effect at 8:00 a.m. “As a result of this attack, two IDF soldiers were killed and there is a suspicion of that another soldier was kidnapped – this happened after the ceasefire went into effect,” he tells Kerry.
