PMO again denies Netanyahu was warned ahead of October 7 Hamas onslaught
The Prime Minister’s Office issues a statement repeating PM Netanyahu’s previous insistence that he was not warned ahead of time about the October 7 Hamas assault. “In no way and at no stage” was he warned, it says.
“All the security hierarchies, including the head of the Shin Bet and the head of IDF military intelligence, assessed that Hamas was deterred and was interested in an arrangement [of ongoing quiet]. That was the assessment that was repeatedly presented to the prime minister and the cabinet by all security and intelligence hierarchies,” it adds.
It says it is issuing the denial because of “erroneous reports” to the contrary.
At his press conference earlier, Netanyahu was asked about a warning ostensibly issued by the head of the Shin Bet and the head of IDF military intelligence, and said the question was “inaccurate.”
