Police summon left-wing activists over protest outside Religious Zionism HQ

Three activists from the Israeli-Palestinian socialist group Standing Together received summonses for a police interrogation after protesting inside the Religious Zionism party headquarters in Shoham this morning, says anti-government attorney Gonen Ben Yitzhak, who is representing the three pro bono as part of the Protest Detainee Legal Support Front.

The activists are suspected of trespassing and property damage, Ben Yitzhak says, accusing police of conducting a “political as well as legally and factually baseless” investigation.

Police said earlier that officers arrived at the party headquarters only after the protesters had left, and that an investigation was launched into “the circumstances of the incident.”
