Religious Zionism’s Ohad Tal said to pan Sukkot’s actions: ‘Did we just decide to commit suicide?’

Religious Zionism faction chairman Ohad Tal reportedly slams fellow MK Zvi Sukkot in an internal party chat after the hard-right lawmaker released footage of himself smashing a Palestinian “Martyrs’ Monument” in the West Bank village of Madama.

“I want to understand, is this coordinated with the campaign? Is there some deep strategy here that I’m completely missing, or did we just decide to commit suicide for good? Genuinely asking,” Tal asks, according to Hebrew news outlets.

Tal does not immediately respond to The Times of Israel’s request for comment.

Politicians from both sides of the aisle issued harsh condemnations of Sukkot this morning, with Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot calling his behavior a “disgrace” and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar insisting that the decision to destroy such monuments must be made by the state via “the IDF and the security forces, and by them alone.”
