Residents of southern Israel block Tel Aviv intersection in security protest
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleResidents of Gaza-adjacent communities are protesting the security situation in southern Israel outside the Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv, blocking a major intersection in the city.
Some 350 protesters simulated the incoming rocket sirens, chanting slogans like “We want to sleep quietly” and “Tel Aviv wake up, the south is burning.”
Some protesters are blocking the nearby Azrieli junction.
The protest comes days after a major flareup in violence in the Gaza Strip.
