Rivlin reportedly asks Kahlon to help foil mosque bill
President Reuven Rivlin has reportedly asked Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon to help foil the passing of a bill to limit when mosques can use loudspeakers for the Muslim call to prayer.
Hebrew media reports say Rivlin called Kahlon and asked him to allow his Kulanu party members to vote freely when the bill comes up in the Knesset on Wednesday.
Kahlon did not say whether he would impose coalition discipline in the vote that has raised objections across the Arab world.
Earlier today Rivlin hosted an interfaith meeting of religious leaders in a bid to find a compromise on the issue.
