Shaked says Gaza ceasefire should be imminent

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked says that a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza should be imminent.

“We are hoping that it will happen any minute, but you have to be careful,” she tells the Kan public broadcaster. “It’s supposed to happen imminently, but until it happens it hasn’t happened.”

Shaked says her most recent updates came from a cabinet secretary about a half hour earlier. She adds that such a deal is not expected to include meeting any demands from Palestinian Islamic Jihad, but merely for both sides to cease firing.
