Suspected car-ramming assailant killed by IDF overnight identified as 17-year-old

The Palestinian Authority health ministry says 17-year-old Mohannad al-Zughayar was killed overnight by IDF gunfire in Hebron in the southern West Bank.

The IDF earlier said troops found and killed a Palestinian in Hebron who had lightly injured a soldier in a car-ramming attack hours earlier.

Local sources cited by the Palestinian Ma’an news outlet say troops killed al-Zughayar inside a car in a field in the west of Hebron. His body was reportedly taken by the IDF, as is usual in such cases.

Ma’an reports that during the pursuit, the IDF blocked the entrances to Hebron with metal gates and searched several homes belonging to al-Zughayar’s family in the city.
