Hours after West Bank car-ramming, IDF says forces located, killed assailant in Hebron

In an overnight operation, IDF forces found and killed a Palestinian who had lightly injured a soldier in a car-ramming attack hours earlier, the army says.

In the attack, the military said last night that the assailant accelerated his vehicle into troops stationed at the Yehuda Junction, near the West Bank city of Hebron, injuring one servicewoman, who was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Other soldiers at the junction opened fire on the car as it fled, hitting it, the military said last night, adding that a search was underway.

This morning, the IDF says the attacker was spotted overnight in Hebron, inside the car used in the attack.

While attempting to arrest him, the suspect “tried to escape while endangering the fighters, the forces reacted with gunfire, and he was eliminated,” according to the army.
