UK’s Hammond leaves top diplomatic post to become finance chief

Philip Hammond has become Britain’s new finance minister, Downing Street has announced, replacing George Osborne who quit the government after Theresa May was appointed prime minister.

Hammond was the foreign minister in the outgoing government of David Cameron. It’s not clear who the new foreign minister will be.
