Vance claims Iran’s ‘conventional military is effectively destroyed’

US Vice President JD Vance claims Iran’s “conventional military is effectively destroyed,” giving the US “options” as the war proceeds.

Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Vance says the options include diplomatic negotiations and further military strikes.

“You talk about people who walk into a crowded supermarket and have a vest on, and they blow up the vest, and a couple of people get killed, and that’s a terrible tragedy. What happens when what’s on the vest… can kill tens of thousands of people,” Vance says, warning of the dangers of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Speaking next, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warns that if the Iranians had “a nuclear weapon, they could kill millions of Americans in the future.”

US President Donald Trump chimes in, falsely claiming that former secretary of state Antony Blinken said yesterday that the previous administration should have struck Iran the way that the current one is.

Blinken criticized Trump’s handling of the war and predicted that it could end soon with Trump declaring victory as the markets continue to dip.

Later in the meeting, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth berates the media for what he claims is its false coverage of the war, insisting that the US is decisively defeating Iran and that the press is reporting otherwise: “Behind every fake news story, there’s an F35 pilot executing a dangerous mission. My message to the media is: get it right.”
