Weekend strike in Gaza targeted Hamas operatives trying to restore tunnel system, IDF says

An airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip over the weekend targeted five Hamas operatives who were attempting to restore a tunnel system, the military says.

The IDF says the tunnel was located on the western side of the Yellow Line, in Hamas-run territory.

The strike on Saturday killed Hudhayfah Hussein Abdullah al-Hawajr, a Nukhba Force operative in Hamas’s East Jabalia Battalion, the army says.

The other four operatives were hit in the strike, but their conditions are unknown.
