Hundreds of revelers gather in Tel Aviv’s HaBima Square, spraying foam, blowing horns, and making merry to usher in Israel’s Independence Day.
“This is what it means to be Israeli,” says Tal, 32, who came to the square with her two children.
As they run in circles around her, intermittently targeting each other with spray foam cans and giggling, she says the joining of Memorial Day with tonight’s celebrations is what she loves most about the holiday.
