Zionist Union slams Likud over primaries

The Zionist Union criticizes Netanyahu for running unopposed in the Likud party leadership primaries.

“Netanyahu wants to do in Israel what he is doing in the Likud — to have no one to run against him. He can forget about it,” it says in a statement.

Political blogger Tal Schneider calls the statement “pathetic” on Twitter and says the party should not comment on internal Likud affairs, prompting Zionist Union MK Shelly Yachimovich to concur.

“When you’re right you’re right,” says Yachimovich on Twitter. “Feeling embarrassed.”
