Man found dead under pile of rubble in Tiberias

Abandoned forklift at scene reportedly leading investigators to believe man was killed in a freak work-related accident

Police in Tiberias said they have opened an investigation after the body of a man was discovered under a pile of rubble in the northern city on Monday morning.

In a statement, police said the body of a man in his 40s was found buried under a pile of gravel on Toledano Street, near a storage area belonging to a local gardening and landscaping company.

It said the man had not yet been identified and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

An abandoned forklift was nearby, and some of the bags of gravel were spilled onto the ground, leading investigators to believe the man was killed in a work-related accident, according to reports.

Police said officers were at the scene and investigating the incident.
