PA arrests Hebron man for hosting Likud MK for Eid holiday
In tweet, Yehudah Glick posts photos of his visit at home of ‘my friend’ Muhammad Jabir, calls for ‘us all to live here in peace’
Palestinian security forces arrested a Hebron man for hosting Likud MK Yehudah Glick at his home for the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Glick tweeted photos of his visit on September 3 at the home of Muhammad Sabir Jabir, with a caption saying he was at “the home of my friend” and calling for “us all to live here in peace. Happy Eid.”
The Palestinian news agency Ma’an said Sunday, “it remained unclear what Jabir was being charged with.” But it confirmed from sources in the PA’s General Intelligence agency that it was due to Jabir’s hosting of Glick.
Some family members said on Facebook they had “disassociated” themselves from Jabir, Ma’an said.

Glick, 51, is among the most prominent activists for Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount, but stresses that he does not seek to prevent Muslim prayer there and has said he would like the contested site to become a center of religious tolerance. In 2014, he was shot by a Palestinian terrorist, Mutaz Hijazi, who told him he was an “enemy of Al-Aqsa.”
Glick is a resident of the settlement of Otniel, which is located south of Hebron.
