Russell Crowe may play biblical Noah

The epic film is being helmed by “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky

Oscar winner Russell Crowe is being – ahem – floated as the possible lead in a big-budget movie about Noah’s ark.

The “Gladiator” star is reportedly being considered to star in “Noah,” an epic being helmed by “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky. “I can’t tell you that this is all going to lead to a deal but signs are pointing that way,” Deadline Hollywood’s Mike Fleming writes on the show-business website.

In the running for another role in the movie is Liam Neeson, currently battling killer wolves in “The Grey.”

Whether or not he takes the part, Crowe’s staying busy these days. Among his upcoming movies is next year’s “Man of Steel,” in which he and Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer play Superman’s biological parents.
