JTA — Swastikas were spray-painted on buildings in several cities in Colorado.
The latest incident occurred last week, when a swastika and the word “Jew” were spray-painted on the B’nai Chaim Synagogue in Morrison. Earlier in the week, swastikas were painted on the windows of three stores in an outdoor mall in Boulder.
“It is not known if there is any connection between these actions,” ADL Mountain States regional director Scott Levin told KWGN-TV in Morrison.
“It is especially disturbing that swastikas were used to deface a sign at a synagogue given their use by the Nazis as a symbol of hate against the Jewish people,” Levin said.
A swastika also was painted on a menorah in the front yard of a rabbi’s home in December in Colorado Springs. Six months ago, the Beth Torah Synagogue in Colorado Springs was also vandalized.
