On May 24, 2024, the Israel Defense Forces announced it recovered the body of presumed hostage Orión Hernández Radoux, 30, from the northern Gaza Strip in an overnight operation. According to new “reliable intelligence” discovered amid the war, Hernández Radoux was killed on October 7, 2023, near Mefalsim. Below are the initial reports of his presumed capture:

Orión Hernández Radoux, 30, a Mexican tourist, was presumed taken captive by Hamas terrorists who attacked the Supernova desert rave he was attending with his girlfriend, Shani Louk, who was assaulted and killed, her partially clothed body filmed being paraded on the back of a pickup truck.

Messages written in Arabic were sent from his phone to his family members: “Palestine will be liberated, and Jerusalem will be the capital of Palestine, and Palestine will be free…”

Hernandez’s family and friends also reported receiving calls from his mobile phone, from people speaking Arabic.

Hernández was seen pictured on Shani Louk’s Instagram in July where she called him “my love.”
